Education
This programme has been very succesful since when it was introduced we,ve got so many children who have benefited from the after school lessons,here children arrive from 3pm from different schools they are grouped according to there age groups and classes.priority being helping them do there homework from school,Due to the free primary school Education which was introduced by the Kenya Government in 2002.Many children turned up and joined schools a cross the country,kibera was one of the areas that was heat by the large numbers of children who school in Government schools.
In Class
To an extend the ratio of teacher to pupils is 1: 80.you can imagine the young kenya children working under one teacher.so many chilldren did perform very well in there end year exams.This really touched us and forced us to think of away we could help this lovely children so that they could be better than our generation .we turned our offices into libraly and we volunteered Monday to Friday helping the children in there homework and study.Thi has been a big success for 2010 where we had 400 children registered with kibera mpira mtaani for the classes,which 40 of them were candidates in primary school.
In November 2010 they did there final exams,and in Dec 2010 there result were out it was amazing out of 500 marks our top girl scooped 398.Big number of them passed very well and were invited to top government high schools.
Teacher
Thanks to Nairobi chapel jubilee education fund which we managed settle 32 of this children in various boarding schools in Kenya.Also big thanks to equity bank also got 2 and our big friend Anisa from peponi school and poly from the Banda they have been very supportive from the beginning and there friends ,schools in England and not forgetting the Rotary Club of England,for even having helped us expand our center,Big tanks also to the entire teaching stuff and volunteers.
This year 2011 have started very well big turn up from children we managed to register 550 children from the beginning of the term.they register from the year of 4 to 19yrs the high school student.
